Looking for a permanent, loving home...
The cats on this page are all being cared for in our foster homes around the Greater Portland area while they wait to be adopted. Many of these cats are recent mothers whose litters have all grown and been adopted and now they are looking for their forever homes; some weren't happy in the shelter environment and preferred a quieter place to spend their days; and others just needed attention and TLC. Cats in foster care are generally faster to adapt to their adopted home because they have been living in a home environment. Sharmin- Adult female
Beautiful Sharmin is a Coon mix tortie/patch tabby lady who is about three years old. Her foster mom describes her to be a model, tall and gorgeous! She is living in foster care and turning into a real love. She would do best in a quiet home, perhaps with a female owner as she seems to prefer women to men. Sharmin gets along well with other cats. |
Ivory- Young female
Beautiful Ivory is not quite a year old. She is a stunning Totie Point girl who has come a long way from her tough beginning on the streets of Lewiston. She is learning to trust, and become part of a family. Ivory will need a lot of TLC and patience, but is well on her way to becoming more social. Ange Il-Adult female
This beautiful Snowshoe Siamese lady is about 5-6 years old, and looking for her forever home. She has wonderful markings and very bright blue eyes! Angel is used to other cats and dos too. Angel is very affectionate and laid back. She is a true angel! Please call to meet her soon.

Gina- Adult female
Just look at this gorgeous, sleek, exotic beauty, with short silky fur. Gina is a very beautiful patch tabby girl looking for her forever home! She is very outgoing and loves to be around people. She has raised four wonderful kittens who have been recently adopted and now she is ready for her own forever home. Gina purrs easily and loves affection, "humming" for attention with her sweet trilling voice. She is playful and gets along well with other cats, but does like to be in charge. |
Bluebell- Adult female
Bluebell came from a gentleman's farm in Cornish. She is very sweet-natured and a strong little girl who has one blue eye, one gold eye. Blue loves to be petted, comes for affection and play. We estimate her to be about 3-4 yrs. old.

Sweetie- Young female
Sweetie is just that...a great young kitty with a very outgoing and loving disposition. She is an all black kitty who is less than a year old most likely. She came to HART as a stray with her three kittens who have all found homes. Sweetie lives with other cats and a dog in her foster home and is just a great kitty according to her foster mom. Skilly-Adult female
Skilly is a beautiful princess who wants to be the center of attention. She loves being pet and pampered and is quite the love bug! She is currently in foster care to help manage her weight. Skilly would be happy in most home environments, including other pets if introduced slowly

Jessie- Adult female
Jessie is a beautiful adult female with striking markings and features. We believe that she is part Bengal. She comes to you from a loving foster family where she has socialized with adults, older kids and other cats and kittens.When Jessie becomes familiar with you, she is very warm and loving. She has a calm personality and although she has shared space w/ other cats, she prefers interaction w/ people and she likes to have space and free roaming. Ideally Jessie would thrive best in an atmosphere where she is the only cat in the home or in a home of not more than two. She does enjoy being in the same room with you and will sit beside you purring, and loves to be petted. She also adores the end of your bed! She is playful when you initiate play.

Brandi- Young female
Brandi is an absolutely gorgeous Maine Coon mix girl with patch tabby coloring who is about a year old. She arrived at the shelter with her young kittens back in October, The little ones sadly did not survive. We discovered it was because Brandi had a dangerously low blood count, and she and her kittens were severely anemic. Through iron supplements, immune boosters, and good nutrition, Brandi has made a full recovery. Throughout her recovery she has been a little sweetie. She is very loving and purrs even when you just speak to her or look at her! She is used to other cats and dogs, but is very much a people kitty. She loves to be near you and will follow you around like a puppy. Brandi is also quite playful and LOVES feather toys. She is just about ready for her new home, so please complete an application if you would like to meet this pretty young lady. |
